"Average Sales Trend" Period should be Longer

When i am checking the potential of an item, i do check the average sales trend, however it is showing only the figure in 1 yr which is not strong enough to show a "trend", i guess at least 3 years or better to be 5 years that it can really show me a real trend of the demand of a product.
